How to add multiple offerings for the same boat

Many of our boat owners run different types of charter on the same vessel — for example a morning cruise, a sunset cruise, and a full-day option, each with its own price and inclusions. The cleanest way to handle this on Rent A Boat is to publish each one as a separate listing for the same boat, then link their calendars so they don’t overlap. This guide walks you through how.

Why publish each offering as a separate listing?

If your boat is available for several different charter formats, each one likely has its own pricing, duration, and what’s included. Rather than cramming everything into one listing and confusing potential guests, publish each format as its own listing — for example:

• Morning cruise — 10:00 to 14:00, snacks included
• Sunset cruise — 17:00 to sunset, drinks included
• Full-day charter — 10:00 to 18:00, lunch and drinks included

Each listing has its own page, photos, price, included extras, and booking rules — making it easy for guests to find and book exactly the experience they want.

Step-by-step: create multiple offerings

1. Log in to your account

Log in at rentaboat.com.mt. From the top menu, click My Boats. On a mobile phone the layout looks a little different — tap the menu icon first — but the option is in the same place and works the same way.

2. Add your first offering

Click Add New Listing and fill in:

• Title — name the offering clearly so guests can tell it apart from your other offerings, e.g. “Bavaria Cruiser 2008 — Morning Cruise” or “Sunset Cruise on Sun Odyssey 42”.
• Description — include the timings (e.g. 10:00 till 14:00), what makes this offering different, and what’s included in the price.
• Price — set the price for this specific offering.
• Extra options — this is where you add optional add-ons such as with food, with champagne, with skipper, and so on. Each option can have its own price so guests can build the experience they want.
• Photos, location, features — fill in as you would for any normal listing.

Save and publish the listing.

3. Duplicate it to create the next offering

From My Boats, find the listing you just created and click Duplicate Listing. A copy will appear with the word “copy” in the title, so you don’t have to start from scratch.

Open the duplicate and edit it to reflect the next offering — change the title (e.g. “Bavaria Cruiser 2008 — Sunset Cruise”), the timings, the price, and the inclusions. Keep the boat photos and core details the same, so guests can clearly see it’s the same vessel.

Repeat for any additional offerings (e.g. full-day, half-day, private charter).

4. Link the calendars so offerings don’t double-book

This is the important bit. If a guest books your morning cruise on a given day, your full-day charter for that same day must automatically become unavailable — otherwise you risk being double-booked.

Each listing on Rent A Boat has its own iCal calendar link. You can:

• Import each listing’s iCal link into the other listings on Rent A Boat, so a booking on one blocks the same dates on the others.
• Or sync them all through an external calendar (Google Calendar, Apple Calendar) and use that as the single source of truth.

5. Choose Instant Booking or manual approval

On the first page of each listing (the Description tab), you’ll find the Allow Instant Booking setting. It’s off by default.

• Off (manual approval) — you receive each booking as a request. You can check your other channels (e.g. other portals where you also advertise the boat) for conflicts, then approve and issue an invoice so the guest can pay.
• On (Instant Booking) — bookings are confirmed instantly as long as your calendar shows the dates as free. Only turn this on once you’re confident your calendars across all offerings are correctly linked.

If a listing is set up to take enquiries only (no booking widget), guests can still message you for an enquiry — you simply won’t receive direct bookings through the site for that listing.
