What’s at White Tower
White Tower Bay is named for the small white watchtower on the headland above, one of the chain of coastal lookouts the Knights built in the 17th century. The bay below is small, sandy in patches, with low rocky shores and clear water. It sits just east of Armier on the north tip of Malta, with road access via a track that puts off most casual visitors.
Anchoring
Sand and rock mix in 3 to 6 metres. Pick the sand patches for the anchor, holding is fine once it sets. The bay is small enough that two or three boats fill it. In summer northwesterlies the bay is well sheltered by the headland to the west. Easterly winds make it uncomfortable.
Practical notes
No facilities. Bring everything you need. The water is exceptional, the swim is one of the cleanest on the north tip, and the surrounding coast offers plenty of rocky inlets to explore by tender or with snorkelling fins. A bay for owners who want quiet over convenience, perfect for a slow morning anchor before the rest of the world wakes up.
