Where it sits
Paradise Bay is tucked just south of the Cirkewwa ferry terminal, on Malta’s northwest tip. Small sandy beach, low cliffs, with the ferry channel just to the north. It’s a popular swim spot from land via a long flight of steps down from the road. By boat it’s an easy stop, especially when crossing between Malta and Comino or Gozo.
Anchoring
Sand bottom in 4 to 8 metres, with reasonable holding once the anchor sets. The bay is sheltered from south through east. Northwesterlies blow across the bay and can roll in some chop, especially when the afternoon Majjistral kicks up. Watch for ferry wash from the Gozo crossings, which arrives every 45 minutes through the day and rolls into the bay quite firmly.
Practical notes
Beach kiosk, sun loungers and umbrellas on the sand. The bay is small enough that a handful of boats fills it, but turnover is high so spaces open up regularly. Excellent water clarity, good swim. Avoid stopping here in fresh northeasterly conditions, the swell wraps in and makes it uncomfortable. A natural lunch stop on a Comino day or a Gozo crossing, paired with an afternoon at Mellieha or Armier on the way back.
