The smaller version
Little Armier sits immediately west of Armier Bay, separated by a small headland. As the name suggests, it’s the smaller of the pair, with a shorter beach and tighter bay. By boat it offers similar conditions to Armier but with fewer people and more intimate scale.
Anchoring
Sand bottom in 3 to 6 metres. Holding is reliable and the bay is sheltered from southerly through westerly winds. The northerly fetch is short, so even in fresh Majjistral conditions the chop is manageable. Easterlies and northeasterlies make it uncomfortable, similar to Armier.
Space is limited compared to its bigger neighbour, so if there are already five or six boats in, you’re parking near the entrance rather than tucked in. Get there early on summer weekends or just go to Armier instead.
Practical notes
Beach kiosk, basic facilities, and a more relaxed crowd than the resort beaches further south. The water clarity is excellent and the swim is one of the best on the north tip. Combine with Armier and Mellieha for a full day exploring the north coast bays without crossing to Comino.
