What Kalanka offers
Kalanka is a small rocky inlet on the Delimara peninsula, a short walk or boat-hop from St Peter’s Pool. The setting is similar, limestone platforms, deep clear water, but the crowds are tiny because most tourists go straight to the more famous neighbour.
Anchoring
The inlet is too tight and rocky for a proper anchorage. Anchor offshore in 6 to 10 metres on sand patches, then tender or swim in. South-coast position gives good shelter from northwesterlies. Easterly weather is the wrong time to come.
Practical notes
No facilities at all. Bring everything. The water is clear, the rocks are good for jumping if you’ve got the head for it, and the snorkelling along the edges is genuinely good. Combine with St Peter’s Pool for an early-morning Delimara double, ideally before the day boats arrive.
